2002 Suzuki Intruder Volusia

Trivia time: Daytona Beach, Florida -- home of Bike Week -- is in Volusia County. And now you know the source of this cruiser's name. :)

I like the Volusia. It definitely seemed the most manageable of the large cruisers that I sat on. For once, it's not obvious from the name, so I'll mention that it's got a 805cc engine (V-twin, but that's no surprise), and is relatively light at only 526 lbs. It seems to be a bit longer and lower, and with better styling, than its cousin, the Intruder 800. I'm not sure what the other major differences between the two are.

My thoughts from the saddle: Comfortable and light. Most cruisers seem totally alien to me, like my arms and legs are sticking out wildly, and it takes as much gumption as strength to lift it off the sidestand. The Volusia seems pretty manageable, though, and I found it as comfortable as any other cruiser I'd sat upon. I don't think I'll be taking Peter as a passenger very often, though. ;)
