Pardon my break in the San Simeon write-up for just a second while I talk about Sunday’s hockey game. π
Until we have a real name, I’m just going to call us Team Right Idea as we continue to have good positioning and lots of enthusiasm, if not a real high goal count. π
I played left wing on Sunday with Robyn (center) and Susan (right wing). I had a lot of fun playing with them — we played well together and had some great positioning and shots on goal. Eventually, one’ll go in! π
For the second game in a row now, the only penalty in the game was from someone on the other team slamming into me. I didn’t even realize she’d gotten a penalty until I looked at the time clock at the end of my shift and saw the penalty clock running. Heh.
I’m 99% sure that I spent the entire game offsides again. I would probably find some way to be offsides even if I were goaltending. Yet another reason that I need to keep my head up instead of staring down at the ice as I am wont to do. Bad hockey player! Bad!
Anyway, I had a great time at the game, despite all apparent evidence to the contrary. Apparently I have a dorky grumpy looking Hockey Concentration Face which made Andrea think that I wasn’t having fun. π My brain is just too small to focus on the game and also have anything resembling social graces at the same time. π Sorry, Andrea!
Since Peter and I are going on vacation in early May, my next NCWHL event is a practice on May 12. I’ll be going to Ice Oasis’s Saturday skills classes in the meantime, though.
